If I had a hammer
Tell you what I’d do
I’d crack a half a dozen eggs
Pretend each one is you

‘N if I had a hammer
for maybe 15 minutes
I’d build a tiny coffin and
Pretend that you are in it

Contemplating everything I’d do with my big hammer
Contemplating if they might just throw me in the slammer
Could glue the bottom of your shoes
If I had the chance
Pour honey in your underwear
And then invite the…. ants
ants inside your pants

Might just grab a paintbrush
And paint your false teeth black
Then take a hammer to your trophy trout
And give it
one big SMACK

Contemplating everything I’d do with my big hammer
Contemplating if they might just throw me in the slammer
Could go to Monte Carlo
rent hotels and cars
Then send you all the bills if I knew

Where the hell you are



Well if I had a hammer
And was a better person
I’d put it back where it belongs
And just let things worsen

But I take satisfaction
In this very simple fact
